Walt Whitman - "America"

Okay, so it's not really a music post, but over at BrainPickings they posted what could be the only record of Walt Whitman's voice reading his poem "America."  As we celebrate the Fourth with a stronger sense of equality Stateside, I hope you don't mind us sharing this world wide.

Happy Fourth Everyone!

America
Centre of equal daughters, equal sons,
All, all alike endear’d, grown, ungrown, young or old,
Strong, ample, fair, enduring, capable, rich,
Perennial with the Earth, with Freedom, Law and Love,
A grand, sane, towering, seated Mother,
Chair’d in the adamant of Time.
