Alela Diane's 2008 record To Be Still is one of the most underrated of the first decade of the millenium. Expansive, emotive, and intricately crafted it's a superior form of songwriting and it's great to hear on "About Farewell" the first single from her new record of the same name that she's managed to strip down the sound from To Be Still taking the necessary elements in this slow-burning track whose melancholia is underscored by the pensive direction of Michael Palmieri.
About Farewell is available digitally here.
I love this blog. Great job.
