Pavement's First (?) Recordings

Pavement is one of those seminal bands that made WLFY.  Zach and I used to banter about favorite lyrics, albums, and songs while trying to be them.  In our own way, of course.  So, CoS's post showcasing two early tracks, "Mellow Jazz Docent" and "Home," from KDVS, Davis, CA, is notable not only for its archival quality but for our glimpse to the musician behind that fancy photo up there.  If you're waiting for a nascent genius, you might not find it here.  Both tracks are so fuzzed out and riotous that you'll feel better about your own high school band.  But, remember kids, you have to pay your dues before you pay the rent.
