If you're one of our ten regular readers, you might have noticed a significant dip in our regular posting the last month. The reason for this is two fold. On my end, long time friend and fellow music blogger Michael Powell and I have been working the past few months on building our own music and media company focusing on management, publicity, video, design, and copywriting. It's called Doppelgang Media and came about like any number of friends wanting to start a bar, music venue, or another type of dream venture. We found ourselves hanging out night after night trying to figure out how to best help out the bands we felt were under-appreciated and the idea of a turn-key music/media company came about, and one that's different than anything else we're aware of. Our goal is to work with the bands we love and feel like giving more to than just one post on our respected websites that don't "break" bands.
The reason I'm announcing this on WLFY is to make clear that our music blog isn't going anywhere and to be transparent about our new company. We've decided that any band or artist we work with will NOT be written about on WLFY or The Decibel Tolls. What this means is some of our previous favorites might release a new track and you won't see it on our music blog. This doesn't mean we don't love the track, it might mean we're working with them.
WLFY is in the process of adding a few writers to help generate regular content, but our staff will continue to be under six people and by more content, we still mean less than a few posts a day. At the very least, we would love to get up a "Track Of The Day" once a day...I mean, that is the title.
Doppelgang Media is officially launched and we couldn't be more excited to jump into helping bands immediately. If you want to keep up with what we're doing, check out our links below and be on the look out for some amazing gems that motivated us to begin this company.
