This is one of those pairings that should get a full release. Nadler and Olsen's vocal work are the perfect opposites. As Olsen takes the lead, Nadler's ethereal harmony balances the composition. All you need is a sparse guitar and a tune by one of Nashville's best songwriters (Mickey Newbury) and you've got a delightful track even if "while you're alive / you've just gotta live with with your pain."
It also gives us a chance to congratulate Olsen for joining Jagjaguwar, one of our favorite labels, though we should be congratulating Jagjaguwar for getting Olsen, whose Halfway Home was one of the best records of last year. Also, Olsen has a new Epitonic session for those of you who just can't get enough.
