Houndmouth Announces Debut LP/New Track

Typically a band that rises quickly is fueled by controversy, mystery, or some factor outside the actual music.  This is not the case with Houndmouth, who have been on a rocket ride over the last year because of their great music, nothing else, which is refreshing to witness.  It helps that Houndmouth writes what I've coined "Recession Rock" which is very much in demand right now. The key with Houndmouth is that they, while sounding nothing like them, lean more toward an Alabama Shakes, not a mimic band, which means resting all their hopes on pure talent and strong songwriting.  The fact that they fit into this popular category is just an added bonus.

Houndmouth's debut LP features a lot of songs from their wonderful EP and a few new ones to prove that band is more than a few one off tracks.  The newest single, "On The Road" is a fun and bouncy track that blends both harmonies and vocal trade offs. It's quick and catchy, a track that has you running back to start immediately after the last few seconds tick off.  Houndmouth might not be breaking new ground with their sound and are unapologetic about their love and influence from The Band.  Listen to their songs and see them live, any suspicions of unoriginality will quickly melt away and give way to realizing that Houndmouth deserves their quick rise.  Hopefully they won't be coming down anytime soon.
