TRACK OF THE DAY: The Water - "Future Nails"

I'll admit that I first heard this track on NPR and my initial reaction was:  "NPR's playing Hella?"  Then, "There's a new Hella record?"  Turns out, it's not Hella but Baltimore instrumental duo The Water whose release this year bears out some fantastic tunes, notably this one, "Future Nails."  There was a time when I thought this was going to be the future of indie rock/punk -- less is more.  Duos and trios making epic noise with less parts per whole than were needed.  Maybe I was wrong, but The Water reminds what superb musicianship can do and the advantages of letting the sound blare and blare and blare...
