Earl Scruggs, perhaps the most influential banjo player of the 20th century, passed away on Wednesday.  Scrugg's musical partner Lester Flatt were pioneers of music making Bill Monroe's high lonesome sound not to mention the theme song for the Beverly Hillbillies.  Scruggs was 88.
