Bill Callahan's new album, Dream River, drops next week. And, while NPR gets to do cool things like film the legend in a community garden, the Callahan camp doesn't return our phone calls. So we're stuck on morsels from a year ago when Callahan covered one of Leonard Cohen's signature tracks for Mojo. And really, that's just fine by us because this cover is one of the most blissful things you'll hear all day with Callahan's bass cooing through the whole track he underplays Cohen for fantastic results.
