HANK ALTOGETHER:There's something that's always so surprising about Deer Tick. When I first heard "Dirty Dishes" with the jangling guitars jumping around John McCauley's just finished a pack vocals, I was elated. Now here was something you can get behind. Yes, let the music do the work for you. And that's really the case, Deer Tick is so criminally underrated they've just focused on making tunes as solid as they can not trying to outdo themselves album to album. It's the kind of focus that makes them astonishing, surprising, and not to be missed. This taste of "20 Miles" is from their album called The Black Dirt Sessions which will be out in May via Partisan.
