05.) Grouper – Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill

Liz Harris finally mixes up her vocal levels putting forth the most beautiful and warmly haunting album of the year.

04.) Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

Unforgettable songs with unbeatable harmonizing. This caught me totally off guard. The first listen was one of total disbelief, that what I was hearing was so pristine and perfect sounding.

03.) Birds of Maya – Vol 1 LP "Birds of Maya"

"Birds of Maya is high on stolen riffs and an energetic execution seldom seen outside of a Sunday ruling by Seamus McCaffery. Whether they are mangling riffs or stepping way out for fried boogie solos Birds of Maya oozes a dark chunky sludge with elements from all the colors of the classic rock rainbow."

02.) Health - HEALTH//DISCO

A showcase that manages to play out with an effortless flow while incorporating an exquisite range of experimental reworkings. Obliterating an album that I wasn't even that fond of in the first place and creating one of my favorite compilations ever. A true rarity in the remix world!

01.) Flying Lotus - Los Angeles

"This is a deep, soulful, intricate album, mixed to perfection where glints of detail are unearthed on ever listen, floating hallucinatory clouds of chords, snippets of voices and exotic percussion lend a different angle to each track."
