Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight
Released April 14, 2008
Label: Fat Cat
Comprised of Scots, The Midnight Organ Fight (yeah it's a euphemism for...you know...) is Frightened Rabbit's second album and vastly different from their first. Displaying a kind of intensity, passion, and vigor that has become kind of outlawed here in the states due to the bad name given to emotional music by "emo." Frightened Rabbit hunts down that kind of nonsense and reclaims music for the dispossessed, broken-hearted, dreamers, and all around pissed off. In a sound that plays off folk, emo, electronics, and other genres, it may take you a few listens to get into Frightened Rabbit. But the reward is well worth the weeks that you may stare at your computer, guaging your thoughts, but compelled to come back to their songs. I'm not saying the music is easy or the emotions are simple to deal with. They're not. All I'm saying is that you're apt to be surprised. As Frightened Rabbit so deftly puts it..."you're the shit and I'm knee deep in it."
